Blog. What a weird word. None of the spell checks in my Microsoft Word software recognize the word blog. Nor does the spell check in the blog software I use? Yet, professionals, the masses, politicians and reporters are use blogs. Chances are your kids have at least one (hopefully not with photos of you in the shower). Blogs are changing the world, for better and for worse.

We all have a plan or two or three. Mine range from mundane daily to-do lists to my 401K investments to a lofty five-year business plan. These documents represent planning that greatly increase my chances of making things work well and they create a road map for my vision of the good times, success and rewards ahead.

The news business is changing and that means so is the business of public relations. Newspaper readership has been on a slow, but steady downhill climb of about 1 to 2 percent a year according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations. A recent Journalism.org survey shows local television viewership dropped from 14 percent during sweeps month in 2005 to a low 2 percent in 2006.
