Recognized as Best Consumer Entertainment Production by American Business Awards

Vérité, a digital communications agency, and USANA Health Sciences, Inc., a leader in science-based health products, were presented Thursday with a Stevie in the Interactive Multimedia category for Consumer Entertainment/Information at the 2008 American Business Awards in New York City. The award was given for the USANA MyHealthPak Builder Flash site.

Vérité helped USANA design and launch a custom supplement ordering system last year using an online entertainment approach, which allows USANA customers to interactively customize and order supplement packs. Visitors to the MyHealthPak site are provided with a fun interactive experience that makes it easy to build, customize and order daytime and nighttime supplement packs from USANA’s online store.

“We are so pleased that Vérité and USANA were given the consumer entertainment award,” Vérité CEO Kimberley Jones said. “Together we produced a unique, cutting-edge approach implementing Web 2.0 strategies that allowed customers to participate and personify their experience.”

Dan Macuga, USANA vice president of network development and public relations, added, “We appreciate this significant recognition for the innovative MyHealthPak site. Vérité helped create a simple, interactive site for our customers to receive truly customizable nutrition, helping USANA stay in the forefront of supplementation. We are also grateful for our dedicated Associates, who provided excellent feedback and support during the site’s construction.”

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word “crowned,” the awards were presented during ceremonies Thursday at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. The ceremonies were hosted by CNN personality Ali Velshi, videocast live on the Internet and broadcast nationwide on radio.

“Many Americans accomplish extraordinary things in the workplace everyday, but rarely get the attention they deserve,” said Stevie Awards founder Michael Gallagher. “We hope that the Stevies inspire people at all levels of American business to recognize and honor outstanding work.”

More than 100 Stevies were presented in more than 40 categories including Best Overall Company, Best Executive, Best Support Staffer and Best Corporate Web site. More than 1,500 nominations from companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted for consideration.
